I am so incredibly thrilled with my first week at makeup school! The first day was Tuesday, and we went in to get our makeup kits and instructions, ie NOTES. I get to study up because my first quiz is September 10th. We also did hands on makeup on Wednesday! We've learnt about foundation, concealer, powder and cleansing. We even did a bit of lips! I already have my ideas for the tear sheet that's coming up at the end of the week and tomorrow I am off to shop for some makeup kit items. Commuting from Surrey to Vancouver is pretty tough in the morning, but I only have to do it three more times because next week I get my suite! Yay roomate! :) Note to self ---> Find a copy of the Advocate.

Today I got a blog. Interesting for me to finally decide to keep a diary, let alone one online. I think it has to do with not wanting to forget the little things, just like the man urinating in the underground in England. But that's another story, one to be told at another time.

As some know, and some do not, I am an aspiring actress. Through this aspiration I have become obsessed as well with the fine trade of Makeup Artistry. I just turned 18, (August 30th) and am now ready to take on my new life as a Makeup Artist/Actress. I am going to school at Blanche Macdonald in Vancouver where I will be learning how to become the makeup artist of my dreams. Or at least try to. I've this obsession with drag queens, and I think it stems from an obsession with makeup. It could however be the other way around.

Today (As of 12 o'clock) I am headed to Vancouver with my dad. I start school the following day. I am super excited, yet also a little frightened. Nervous as it were. I won't be able to get into my house for a few weeks still, so I'm staying at my sister's.

I'd say I've had a pretty fun filled summer so far. I started the summer out by being in CYMC's production of Cabaret, where I oddly enough got the lead, Sally Bowles. It was a great experience, and one that I just loved because my best friends all got cast in leads too. What can I say, they're all superbly talented. Not to self --> Post cast pictures sometime in the not so distant future. After Cabaret had closed, I got to go to England for two weeks with my fab pal Alex. We saw everything there was to see, and even stopped in France for a light lunch and a return trip to England. Now I get to go to school for Makeup Artistry! How exciting!

Tomorrow should be exciting....I'm a little nervous. We'll see how it goes!
